Walking

Me and Kit have been walking a lot lately. Just exploring all the fields and rivers around our house. Ira likes to walk with us, but when we want to go for a longer walk we leave her at home with Daddy as her little legs can't keep up.

Today we visited Winflields as Kitty wanted to buy some walking boots with her birthday money. She also bought herself a lightweight back pack and a Summit water bottle.
Then we set off.

 Past our new neighbours.

Along the meadow path.

A lonely horse.

Down the narrow walled track.

A friendly horse.

.....super friendly!

Home just in time for tea.

We have started to map our walks on View Ranger which is pretty cool. We are in training with a view to conquer Boulsworth Hill before Christmas.

Muddy Puddles

A short autumn walk.

Squeezing Ira through the stile.

Muddy lanes.

 Splashing is the best fun.

 Scrumping is good fun too.

Blackberries

We went to collect up the last of this summers blackberries from the lane. I was hoping to gather just enough for a breakfast treat, but these pair had different ideas. As fast as we could pick, they ate.
Then a spot of stick painting to round off the day.

The Wagon part II

Kitty and Daddy have been working hard on the Wagon. A new petrol tank, lots of bits and bobs under the bonnet and a new carpet.

Mum's Birthday

A visit to Derbyshire for Mum's birthday. Lots of cake and lots of candles.

We love to visit the canal with Grandad and Layla. We went on an adventure around the old forge too where Granada and Layla spend most of their time these days. Grandad showed us his secret stick hiding place.

Wagon conversion part I

Dad made us a couple of ply seats that will convert into a bed.

Peahead found a bench seat on ebay. It's great as it seats three, folds forward when you want the space and then folds right back into a bed for the kiddos.

Next, rip out the manky old carpet and fit a new one. I can see we will be spending most of the summer in this wagon.......fixing it up rather than travelling in it!

Crazy new project

We have gone a bit mad and bought a rusty old beast of a wagon.

It's an '89 American Ford Econoline. A day van that we have visions of converting into a camper.

To be continued......

Daddy has developed a taste for flying.

And so has my little Kitty !!!!

Sports Day

Kit retained her title from last year of champion egg 'n' spooner.

The Black Bloomer

I needed something to keep the kiddos busy while I did a spot of gardening. We got a couple of boxes from the skip at the supermarket and set to it.

It soon started to take shape.

And before long the troublesome two were ready to set sail in The Black Bloomer - the best, most speedy and beautiful pirate ship ever (apparently).

A good three hours solid fun.

An mummy managed to plant some strawberry runners from Mama Kitty's garden and fashion a little fence from hedgerow sticks.

I also inherited lots of seeds that Mama had saved from her garden. She had carefully labelled each little paper bag. I planted them in hope that a small bit of her garden will continue here on my little plot.

The Snail Detectives

We love Brockholes!  Loads of fun stuff to do outside.

An amazing floating visitor centre.

 Learning about nature.
