More steam

It was Grandads birthday, so we went to Derbyshire and did another steam train trip. This time at the Midland Railway which runs past their house. Unfortunately, most of the track sits in a cutting so you don't get to see much. It's still nice though.

Layla was quite nervous.

We got off at Swanwick Junction, to have a look around. Kitty loved the signal box.

And the playground of course.

But her favourite bit was the miniature railways.

This place actually exists!

My favourite bit was having a rummage around the scrap land behind the station. In the shadow of the derelict Brittain Colliery, Kit and Layla ran and ran and ran.

There was loads of lovely architectural salvage, including what looked like an old tramway made by The Butterly Company where my Grandad worked.

I took a moody photo of a police helicopter that passed over.
