Our spotty ballerina

We have been practising for weeks. Kitty didn't seem too bothered about the upcoming show, but the excitement kicked in on the day of the final rehearsal which took place at the theatre. She loved being up on the stage and couldn't wait to perform in front of a full house.

I wasn't very happy when I found out she was required to wear full stage make-up. She looked horrendous, but of course she thought it was great. Especially the lipstick.

We got tickets for both sets of grandparents, who politely sat through the longest, hottest and particularly boring kids dance show just to see Kitty on stage for all of five minutes. Ira started crying during the first few scenes, so I had to sit in the bar and watch it on screen (which to be honest, was much more comfortable than being in the theatre). She did good though. Unfortunately photos weren't allowed and some how they managed to stuff up the official video so no record of her stage debut.

We certainly won't forget the mess the makeup made of her face though, despite the very expensive barrier cream I bought to protect her sensitive skin.

She loves ballet class, but I really don't think stage shows are for us. It's not really what we had in mind. We are going to have a think about whether to let her carry on over the holidays.
