Sunshine = park

 

After school, we stopped at the park to make the most of a beautiful day.

The city

Every now and again, we visit the city. Mainly to remind us why we moved to the countryside. The milkshake was good though.

Baby trousers

I made Bubs some comfy trousers from an old wool sweater. I think they turned out pretty well and she got lots of compliments on them today when we visited the veggie cafe at The Bear Co-op, Todmorden.

I made some grey ones too but I quickly discovered that angora fluff and baby dribble isn't a good mix.

After the sights of Todmorden in the rain, my beautiful girls were exhausted and slept all they way home.

Secret mission

Mummy and Bubs waited patiently while Kitty undertook her secret mission today. All will be revealed at a later date.

Afterwards we ate our picnic and fed a crow at the canal.

The sun was shining, but perhaps it was still a little cold for ice cream.

At the park, Bubs played with the camera while Kit made rainbows with sticks. Sweet.

Farm party

Kitty's friend Georgina lives on one of the farms near to us, so we had been looking forward to her birthday party for quite some time. It didn't disappoint. A disco in the barn, straw bales for seats, balloons and pin the tail on the donkey (not a real donkey!), jelly and ice cream, feeding lambs, petting cows, several rides in a quad trailer, giant tractors, lots of mud and an easter egg hunt to top it off. By 4pm twenty or so kids were very tired, but happier than you can imagine.

What we hadn't realised is that as well as organising brilliant parties, running a farm, having day-jobs and raising two kids, Georgina's mum and dad are also currently building themselves a fabulous new stone farmhouse AND at the same time renovating their existing farmhouse - all whilst living in a caravan!

Until we discovered this, we were really pleased with the lovely bath bombs we got for Georgina from Lush. They smell amazing and make a fun change from toys - or so we thought - not so great when you  don't actually have a bath. I guess we owe Georgina some Lego!
