Small and white

My big girl is enjoying her new ballet class. She is rehearsing for a show in June at Burnley Mechanics. She has been given the part of an Edelweiss and we need to learn the song*. She will have a costume with little white petals around her face.

Waiting patiently for class.

Off she goes. Confident and precise. My little Edelweiss.

*Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white,
clean and bright
You look happy to meet me.
Blossom of snow
may you bloom and grow,
Bloom and grow forever.
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever.

Lyrics: Oscar Hammerstein

We had a bit of snow last night....

The pub is still open. No one can come as the road is completely blocked.

I knew I shouldn't have put the spring flowers out yet!

A birthday bash

Daddy is 40 in a few weeks. He is having a little birthday bash. Anyone that knows us is welcome to come along and anyone that can play or sing is invited to become part of the entertainment for the evening. Should be fun.

Little Bubs may require some baby headphones!

Sisters

The girls are really getting to know each other now and enjoying each others company.

Yarnival

Daddy was recovering from a work trip to Ireland so we left him in peace and paid a visit to Yarnival in the village. There was so much lovely wool (and sheep!), but I couldn't justify buying any as I have so many knitting projects in bags waiting for me to find some time.

Temptation

A dry day prompted a trip into Skipton with Bubs. Haven't been shopping for a while as I'm trying not to spend too much money while I'm still getting a decent amount of maternity pay - in the hope that I can comfortably drag out my leave to a full year. However, the Fent Shop always has such great stuff, I couldn't help myself. I had baby clothes in mind when I picked the fabrics and wool, but I like them so much I might make something for myself. I also couldn't resist a lovely black and white print scarf (a bargain buy from Oxfam - just a £1), a pretty wooden pattern stamp and some really amazing geranium soap.

Thank goodness Birdcage Vintage was closed as I might not have been able to leave this amazing little baby dress behind. The price tag was turned the wrong way, which suggests it is probably way out of my maternity budget.

Simple giggles

We all went to the park. I took Ira on the swing and it made her giggle a lot. Kitty ran around like a nutter as per normal.

Ira also tried swimming for the first time this weekend. She liked this too.

Kitty is swimming really well now and has started going without armbands a bit. She hasn't been keen on getting her face wet, but she braved jumping in and going under so i think her swimming will come on much better now she has overcome this fear.

Little Bub

Our little Bub is really developing her own personality now. She might look a lot like Kitty, but she is quite different.

Kitty likes making her laugh.
