Graco baby

Friends gave us a Graco baby walker. Kitty is a little small yet for walking around in it, but since she insists on standing most of the time we thought she might like to sit/stand in it for a little while. It has proved very popular. She loves the little table bit at the front which she can put her toys on. It gives her extra leverage to give frogger a good old bashing.

Note the cute cardigan bought by Auntie Alison. Also, new purple cords.......size 6 to 9 months!! Kitty is just over 3 and a half months now, so just a note of caution on sizes for anyone thinking of getting her any clothes for Christmas. She's a big girl.

Birthday

Today the weather was especially windy so our walk with the dogs was quite an experience. I think I may need to fill the bottom of the pram with weights in future to stop it blowing away. Kitty was well prepared however in her snow suit and seemed to enjoy the extreme conditions.

I received lots of cards for my birthday and some nice presents too.

New slippers from mum and dad. Always useful on a stone floor.

A beautiful cushion from Peahead. He had noticed me cooing over it in a magazine, so ordered it for me as a surprise. Way too over priced for a cushion, but I do love it. Thanks, Peahead.

I also spotted this intriguing little parcel on the piano after Peadhead had gone to work, but have resisted opening it. I'll wait until he gets home.

I got quite a bit of money from mum, dad and mama. Much appreciated. Not sure what I'm going to buy yet, but I'm considering a few different things - a little blender as I will need to start making food for Kitty in a month or so and the one I have is really rubbish. I have also been wanting a 'FURminator' for ages. I have been put off buying one before as they seem quite expensive for a pet brush, but apparently they are amazing. A new pair of boots might be good, as after 8 years (!) the ones I have are starting to look pretty scruffy. I wanted to knit Kitty a new cardigan for when she starts nursery, so some nice wool would be good too. Actually, I could probably get most of the things on my wish list - thanks guys!

I finished Kitty's little hat and have started on an orange tank top using some nice Rowan wool I have had for a while. I'm not sure there will be enough though, so I may have to put some kind of pattern on the front using a different wool. Should be ready for Christmas.

I bought Kitty a little teether as she is chewing everything in sight. It's especially good as it clips to her top so she doesn't lose it.

Water baby

Over the weekend Holly, baby Cas and little Mo the dog came to visit. Little Mo's ears are enormous.

Mama and Grandad Simpson came up to see us too. Kitty was very excited about some shiny wrapping paper. She particularly enjoyed whacking grandad on the head with it.

I started knitting another little hat for Kitty with some teal Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino I got from Attica in Hebden Bridge. I knit the last one flat but wasn't happy with the seam, so I'm knitting this one round with four needles to avoid a seam altogether.

On Sunday, we all went swimming. Kitty looked really cute in her little swimming costume that Uncle Simon and Auntie Lisa got for her. She liked being in the pool and was very nosey looking at all the other babies and children.

Pineapple kid

We have had a busy couple of weeks. Lots of visitors, outings and chores. Kitty has also had lots of new presents, despite Christmas being so close.

Last week, Kitty received her first parcel from the postman. It was a new book from Darren, Nicky and cousin Ben. She likes it a lot.
She got a new toy from the supermarket which she picked out herself. She particularly likes the bobbly bits she can put in her mouth. This month from the library she picked 'Banana!', a book about a naughty monkey who learns how to say please.

At the weekend grandma and grandad Pih came over, bringing more presents - a pretty new dress and a new singing cube toy. Darren, Nicky and Ben came up too and we all went to Hebden Bridge for the afternoon. We had lunch at a pub and Ben and Peahead fed the ducks.

When Kitty is awake, she mainly wants to sit up. Her bouncy chair is ok for a while, but daddy bought her a play doughnut to help. She really likes it as she isn't strapped in and can move around quite a bit.

Kitty is always interested in our food, so we have started to let Kitty suck on bits of fruit. Her favourites are apple and pineapple.

After all the fun over the last few days, Kitty was exhausted. She spent most of today like this.

Tonight she has gone to bed early.

Saturday we all went to Harrogate. Kitty slept through most of it. The queue for Bettys was out of the door and down the road as usual, so we had to make do with another tea room. Perhaps one day we will make it there early enough to get in to Bettys! Taking the pram into shops was a nightmare, so we just had a walk around as it was quite a nice day.

Today, daddy is at band practice and the weather is bad so we cranked up the heating and just lazed around playing and watching tv. I baked (and ate) some lovely almond, raspberry, blueberry and blackcurrant muffins. Yummy.

Kitty is still fascinated by her feet - even when she is wearing her slippers. She pulls her trousers up to get a good look at them.
